COLOR-FULL
a solo art exhibit by Yoyo Ferro
ATLANTA, October 31, 2019 – Yoyo Ferro, the Atlanta-based street artist announces his first solo gallery exhibition titled COLOR-FULL. The exhibit is focused on work from 2015 to 2019 portraying the range of human emotions through over 30 paintings inspired by his large-scale murals located throughout Atlanta. He elicits empathy from his audience by depicting postured characters encompassed within an abstract world of bright colors, bold contour lines, whimsical shapes, and origami, creating a colorful representation of the fabric of our emotions.
The constructed environments in which Ferro’s genderless-raceless characters exist represent the spectrum of joys, sorrows, and challenges that day-to-day life has to offer every one of us. The flowing black lines that anchor the composition are our human experience, organically moving in all directions, as they form barriers while blocking colors and patterns on either side along the way. This creates new abstracted shapes representing the obstacles, fortunes, and decisions that each of us experience in both large and small scale throughout our lives, regardless of our background or history.
COLOR-FULL invites you to reflect upon your own emotions, experiences, and ability to empathize as you view each work, as well as accept and move through this life with positivity, understanding, and a willingness to embrace the trials that you will inevitably encounter.
The grand opening will take place from 6 - 11 PM on December 07, 2019 at The Plaza at Ponce City Market - 678 North Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
